National Taipei College of Nursing (1994 to 2010)

 

On August 1st, 1994, the College was restructured into the National Taipei College of Nursing, the first independent nursing college in Taiwan. The original 3-year junior college and 2-year junior college education programs stopped admitting students as well.

1. Department and Graduate Institute of Nursing

(1) In August 1994, the Department was approved to set up an undergraduate program. There is a 2-year and 4-year programs as the 2-year program recruits junior college graduates, and the 4-year program recruits vocational high school graduates or graduates from senior high schools with vocational specialties.

(2) In 1998, the Department was approved to establish the Graduate Institute. The master’s program is for general students and in-service students, and there is an in-service master’s program for nursing teachers.

(3) In 2005, the Department was approved to set up a PhD program.

(4) In July 2007, the Department was approved to open an International Nursing Master’s Program.

2. Department and Graduate Institute of Medical and Nursing Management

(1) In August 1994, the Department was approved to set up an undergraduate program. It is a 2-year program was divided into the nursing management group and medical management group to recruit junior college graduates.

(2) In August 1998, the Department was approved to set up a master’s program for its Graduate Institute for general students and in-service students

(3) In 2008, the Department was approved to be renamed as the Department of Health Care Management, and a 4-year undergraduate department was added.

3. Department of Infant & Child Care

(1) In August 1996, the Department was approved to add a 2-year program to recruit junior college graduates.

(2) In August 2001, the Department was approved to set up the Graduate Institute of Infant and Child Care to be established, and the Department recruited another class for its 4-year undergraduate program (reduced one class from the 2-year program)

4. Graduate Institute of Long-Term Care

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment August 2000, and it was for general students and in-service students.

5. Graduate Institute of Speech and Hearing Disorders and Sciences

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2000, and it was Split into Speech Disorders Group and a Hearing Disorders Group.

6. Graduate Institute of Nurse-Midwifery

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2000, and it was for general students and in-service students.

7. Graduate Institute of Health Allied Education

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2000, and it was for in-service students.

8. Graduate Institute of Tourism and Health Science

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2001.

9. Graduate Institute of Life and Death Education and Counseling

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2001.

In 2012, the College was approved to set up a 4-year undergraduate program in the form of the “Department of Thanatology and Health Counseling.”

10. Graduate Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Nursing

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2001.

11. Department and Graduate Institute of Exercise and Health Sciences

In August 2002, the Department was approved for establishment of a 4-year undergraduate program.

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in 2007.

12. Department and Graduate Institute of Information Management

The Department was approved for establishment in 2002, and recruited students for a 2-year program.

The Graduate Institute was approved for establishment in August 2004.

In 2008, the Department was approved to set up a 4-year undergraduate program (reduced one class from the 2-year program).
