The University was established for more than 70 years and have gone through a lot of difficulties. However, It’s just like the spirit of the University, Rebirth like a phoenix, so that the University was getting stronger and responded with all efforts to make the university with more features. Currently the University owns two campus. The main campus is the base for teaching and administration. The Downtown campus is the root of University, aiming to develop as a center of continuous education and training, as well as a health care industry hub to link in between students and worldwide professionals. Hope to shape NTUNHS as the most important University in the nursing and health care field among Asia, and present the University’s professional brand name to be seen by the world. To realize the prospect, the main theme of university management is initiated as “ NTUNHS Education Plus” by planning four guiding principles. 1. Students-oriented: advancing teaching and learning quality. International learning will be strengthened to create an environment without boundary and put the oversea practical learning into action targeting over thousand students. Meanwhile, Students would be required to have interdisciplinary learning and humanity attainment to cultivate future-accustomed talents gaining enterprises interests. 2.Administration affairs: completing management mechanism. The university’s software and infrastructure would be continuously advanced. Co-moving office would be set up to strive for more abundant academic resources which benefit to teachers and students. For example, NTUNHS proposes the EMI (English as a medium of Instruction) project utilizing popularizing and prioritizing strategies, and aims to reach the EMI target up to 20-50% in 2024 and 2030, which is in line with the bilingual nation policy. On the other hand, in order to present the better administration performance, the university will analyze the work structure and review different positions’ job descriptions, payments, and promotion regulations and further construct efficient system. 3.Campus environment: renovating the campus and make it dynamic. The old campus would be continuously renovated, including historical sites repair and better space utilization to maintain the roots of NTUNHS, keep the original spirit and draft fundraising programs to support socioeconomically disadvantaged students’ education. 4. External connection: establishing international partnership. Promote knowledge transfer to encourage social practice via seminars and workshops cooperated with communities, industries, and international research institutions. Emphasize our university’s social responsibility (USR) to link with SDGs in the next stage and make the university sustainable. Since the government is highly concerned about the technological-vocational education in recent years, it is expected to be in line with social dynamics and industry requirement. The value of education is about desirability, so the university has to keep pace with the times, adjust and update accordingly, in order to add value and remain unshakable and become even firmer as time goes by. The famous American scholar, John Dewey, once said “If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we rob them of tomorrow.” In other words, if we teach today’s students previous technique aiming to solve tomorrow’s problems, we cannot lead to progress. To sum up, “innovative and value-added education” means what students learned from the university can take the lead in respond to trend and requirement, bring into power of influence and highlight the value of NTUNHS.
